ED has the same risk factors as both coronary artery disease (CAD) and generalised vascular disease.14 These include hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, obesity, lack of physical exercise, excess alcohol intake, poor diet and psychological stress, in particular depression. As mentioned earlier, ED is now recognised as an marker of increased cardiovascular disease (CVD) that is independent of conventional risk factors.15

In general, more than 6 in 10 men say they have harder erections after taking it.
Most men will experience some form of impotence in their lifetime, and the likelihood of developing symptoms increases with age and declining health.
Erectile dysfunction is said to be psychological and this can be influenced by cases acquainted with the following:
30-50% of hypertensive men also suffer from ED. Hypertension can disrupt erectile tissue function. In addition, some prescriptions for the condition can cause ED. However, there’s evidence that suggests that once adequate blood pressure control is regained – even for those on medication – ED becomes less likely.

Sildenafil (sildenafil citrate) is prescription medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED).
Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitors, such as sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil, are among the most widely used and effective drugs for the treatment of ED. They work by temporarily increasing the blood supply to the penis (Table 4).
The first things doctors usually prescribe to men with erectile dysfunction are pills like:
Research published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine examined data relating to erectile dysfunction and dietary factors. Researchers found that a dietary pattern that’s high in fruit, vegetables, fish, nuts and whole grains, and low in red and processed meat, is more common in men who aren’t affected by erectile dysfunction. These dietary choices, which fall within the guidelines of the Mediterranean diet, are associated with lower all-cause and disease-specific survival, according to researchers. And in clinical trials, following the Mediterranean diet was more effective in improving erectile dysfunction or restoring erectile function in people with metabolic syndrome or obesity. (21)
Penile implant surgery can be very effective, provided that precautions are taken to avoid infection. Prosthesis surgery is contraindicated if systemic cutaneous or urinary infection is present. Antibiotics should be provided pre-operatively, and the surgical site should be shaved immediately prior to surgery. We use both Mentor and AMS penile implants with specialized antibiotic coats. Patients are hospitalized overnight for closed suction drainage, and sent home on seven days of post-operative antibiotics. Using these and other precautions, our implant infection rate is comparable to national averages (2-4%, 1-2% for antibiotic coated implants). Vascular surgery is recommended only in healthy individuals with recently acquired erectile dysfunction due to a focal arterial narrowing (usually related to trauma) and in the absence of generalized vascular disease. Swallow your tablets whole, with a drink of water. The tablets can be taken with or without food.
Some ED treatments are effective within a specific time window after you swallow a pill and require a short wait before they become effective. Others give you more leeway to forget about timing altogether. Are you somebody who will be irritated by a certain amount of planning for sex? For some people, this can be a mood-killer, while other men don’t mind, especially those who don’t like the idea of taking a daily pill for occasional sex.
